INVICTA Shaper/Shaping machine - 30'' stroke
There is an ad for a 30" metal shaper in Rockhampton.
From the photos it looks very good.

They are going to keep it a long time at that price.
It does not really matter what condition it is in as it is a large obsolete machine tool thus has a very small number of potential buyers.Gold, the colour of choice for the discerning person.

I like what he's asking for the CNC Twin Spindle Boring machine better !
although that looks more specialised/obsolete than the shaper - at least to my untrained eye

My shaper must be one of the only metalworking machine tools I own that I would consider selling ... I don't think I've ever used it for a "real" project.
Cheers.
Vernon.

I'll check what pics I'm allowed to share.
We have several Sunderland gear planers and Sykes gear shapers if you want to have a browse through google and youtube.
Here's our website (well, our parent company; I'm with R&I which specialises in small gears) if you want to have a look around https://www.hardmanbros.com.au/gear-...g/gear-planing

Thanks for the link Elan, interesting machines. Some look like vertical shapers.

Sure it looks to be in excellent shape, but $6K for a shaper, and missing it's vice? Tell him he's dreamin'.

Yep, that's pretty much all they are with some extra gearing to synchronise the rotation of the blank and cutter. Some of them also have electro-hydraulic magic going on to automatically do roughing and finishing cycles. I'm not really familiar with the operation of the larger ones yet; our little one just does a single cycle, but we're only doing small teeth (Mod 0.3 - Mod 1). Hopefully they'll get me over the other side of the factory some time to play with the big toys...
