Monster Maxen Lathe in Bakers Hill W.A.
On Gumtree a real Man's Lathe has just been offered for sale.
Bakers Hill is about 60 - 70kM east of Perth - that's close to me.
$800 - a real snap!
If the garage door behind the lathe is about 2.5 metres wide, then the bed must be, at a guess, five metres long.

If only I had somewhere to put it and enough power to run it and big enough roof racks to carry it...

And if you're on the east side of the Bight there's always this one:

5 1/2" spindle bore and a 12' bed has got to be handy for something.
Very cheap at the moment but who knows what the reserve is.
Cheers,
Greg.

Local pickup only. Freight is going to be a killer.
I wouldn't take it for free even with delivery included unless I actually *needed* something with a bore that big. It's going to take up a hell of a lot of shop space.
But fortunately I'm pretty much out of the machine tool acquisition caper nowadays, with 2 possible upgrades to existing machinery excepted, assuming something comes along.
