Damn it is the other end of the country from me..... I'd really like to have gotten my hands on some of that gear especially the wagon wheel rim roller.

It'll likely be a cheap sale as the usual suspects have blown their money on last weeks museum auction.

Not far from me and I don't start work til midday that day, will try get there to check it out.

There appears to be a crazy amount of stuff in that relatively small area....

thank god for that its on the saturday that i will be racing up the sunny coast so i wont be able to go otherwise i would be buying way to much at that sale .johno

Not enough info to warrant posting this one separate, but was flicking through the weekend paper and it appears there is another action on the 8th also with some forging tools

There are now some pictures up, might be just me but I don't see anything that is of interest to me

I'm out having a look at that auction, anvil lots are in the 400 lot numbers so not sure if will even go under the hammer before i have to go.

I dont know enough about anvils but some look pretty rough, like they either were not great quality to start with or bave had a pretty hard life.
Should have brought a hammer to see if they ring,youtube tells me this is how you check if its wrought iron or not

Just got back from the auction. Went there for things other then anvils though still bought one home.

At the time I didn't know to look, and there were a crowd there, so didn't note the black hat'd backpacker.

Looks like one buyer bought three of the anvils.
I think the auctioneer sticking with $100 raises lost some bids.

Sundry...
The big cast bench press made $350.
D2 bulldozer $10,000.
Apparently many of the dozen odd Fergie's failed to make reserve.
