This is more of an industrial machine as it is many many tonnes, but it is nice none the less. Might be clapped out as it would be 50+ years old.

Did someone say Colchester Master 2500 lathe?
Why go just one when you could have a dozen of them ! (Location: TAFE QLD, Mary St, Bundamba, QLD, 4304)
If a Colchester isn't your thing try this one

Wouldn't these old lathes be pretty worn out?

By the way, how can you tell? Put a straight edge on the ways and a feeler gauge underneath the part near the chuck end?

A good quality machine will last a number of lifetimes, provided it gets maintained and looked after. Little things like keeping the bed free of any grit that may wear it down (toolpost grinders, emery/sand paper grit), and lots of oil.

The Hamatu would probably have been a machine not used by students.

That was the case with mine. It was used by the maintenance fitter at the TAFE college and avoided the typical student abuse.

Not an Ebay or other wise auction.

This come across my email, as I buy a little Larzep lifting equipment. Their the Spanish equivalent of ENERpac.

Link>> 20t Bottle Jack | Larzep Australia Pty Ltd

20 tonne bottle jack. Knocking them out for $98 bucks + GST. They had 150 of them to move.

I inherited a 20 Chinese press, when Gregory Q Moose moved to the Gold Coast. Jack on that was sub-par. Leaked.

I'm subbing this in. European / Spanish, quality equal to Enerpac. I'm told Enerpac have bought them out. Story I'm told is that they brought 150 units in for the Oz Army. Turned sour.

They don't have the jack handle. Nor do they have the square thread elevation thread out of the ram.

They did a credit card at the door step today for me. I'm sure they could do freight. If you had a 20T press, building a 20T press, or jacking up a B double.

    Regards. Phil.

That Waldown certainly is a bargain Piers when you see the exorbitant prices optimists are asking on eBay. I'd add to my collection if I lived in SA!!
