Nowhere near the condition and a pretty rare bird, interesting the Smart and Brown that comes up on that page too....although looks like a clayton's auction for that one!

Where I used too work had a very similar, if not identical machine. Everybody who had used it loved it. Despite being huge, heavy, and immensely powerful it was cared for as if it was the fruit of the operators loins. When it was sold it was like a death in the family. Beautiful machine!! Albeit somewhat out of place in a modern machine shop!!
cheers
Bill

Amusing watching the bidders go after the Colchester Triumph 2000, when it is the most poorly built lathe in that auction.
Gold, the colour of choice for the discerning person.

Quite a few bids on the jig borer, seems a MG from Trundle is leading the bidding.......

This will go for much more than I can afford at the moment but who knows.
I think all milling machines should weigh 17 tonnes and have positional accuracy of a few microns.
If you where putting together your dream manual machining workshop with no consideration to price and space this machine would be close to top of the list.
Hope it goes to a good home

I made a run at the Schaublin 53 but its now outside the budget, pity as i could really use something heavier that the b'port. Unless im missing something im not sure the FP1 with the vertical head, that is MISSING its actual table is worth $2500 odd after premiums.
That Colchester is now at $6000 which is honestly the dumbest thing ive seen all year.

I actually spoke to a friend who went to the inspection, both the deckels were almost completely tooled up including the table packed away the schaublin had everything also. Both the SAG and Cazenuve were pretty badly worn.
