That's a new annoying feature of epain, your not allowed to contact buyers directly anymore - so you and the buyer can't organize a sale off site. But who wants to buy something like a lathe or vehicle without inspecting it first? You'd have to pay paypal to ensure you get your money back if it didn't work or the seller embellished too much.

This surface plate has been kicking around for a while on ebay.

I don't know if that's a good price or not:

I'm sure one of the forum members was selling the same type earlier this year, from Adelaide I think.

The Oakleigh South auction has a nice small precision milling machine listed. A "hayes" I think, diemaster HMH26. Has a DRO fitted. Seems to be about Schaublin 12/ Deckel fp1 size. For the expected price of $800 it would beat the pants off any of those Chinese made small mills; even if it had some wear.

I can't get to the auction so I don't mine broadcasting to other members.

Just to be clear, whenever lockwoods put anything up on gumtree they criminally undervalue it and it normally goes for 3x the price.

It would be a great little machine for home hobbyists. I was seriously considering going down to Melbourne for the auction but figured it would definitely go for more than what they listed.

It's an auction and you take your chances on the day. May be no one else with much interest; also may be another couple of bidders with fat wallets and the sky is the limit. With the dro and if the wear on the ways is limited I think it would still be a fair price at $2500.

Maybe the 'wanted' was the result of clicking the wrong choice?
Do you all know about this site:
SMEX - For Sale - Machinery
I stumbled across it while searching for a shaper (a Douglas, which I bought). You probably all know about it, but it was new to me.

Having checked the TOU, I think this is acceptable on the grounds of me not being a commercial outfit (if not acceptable, mods please delete):

Blatant self promotion of my ebay items:
