Default Suggestions for a good set of hollow ground screwdriver bits?

    Hi
I am after a set of hollow ground screw driver bits.
Some of the generic stuff in the big hard-ware chains is imported junk which I am pretty sure will be soft garbage, or they just include a whole lot of stuff that I already have (torx, phillips etc).

I'd really like just a slotted hollow ground set of bits with at least 12 pieces in it.

Can anyone recommend a good brand, or know of a good place to find them?

I'm in Perth, but shipping may be OK too.

I have a Wheeler set which I have no issues with. They make a range of sets from small and compact up to quite extensive.

I have this travel set here: Wheeler Engineering 28-Piece Space-Saver Gunsmithing Screwdriver Set

For the insignificant cost of it I just grabbed it as an extra when I ordered another lot of stuff to make up the order and make shipping worthwhile. I got mine from Natchez Shooting Supplies in the US but they are available in lots of places.

I have broken one of the smallest bits but that wasn't a reflection on the bits themselves but more of what I was asking of it (I work a lot with old rusty guns).

Grace Tools are apparently quite nice, but I have no experience. Grace USA 8-Piece Gunsmith Screwdriver Set

Best screwdrivers I have ever used are made by Stahlwille in Germany. In SA they are available at General Tools and Blackwoods.

    Hello Gaz,

While they are actual screwdrivers and not bits, Baumann's PB Swiss Tools parallel ground screwdrivers are the best screwdrivers I have ever used.

I have a few Nikon microscopes and the blades fit the various painted screwheads on the scopes without damaging the paint. Nikon made sure that some of the screws were particularly tight and these screws required the use of a spanner to provide sufficient torque to loosen them. (The larger screwdrivers feature a hex on the blade) The paint remained intact.

I don't know whether anyone sells them locally these days, I bought a few in Switzerland and more recently, a lot more from Karl Dowidat's Werk 10 in Germany - https://www.werk10.com//-6000:::16.h...0nr4g4dtucarc4

eBay is another source - PB SWISS TOOLS items - Get great deals on pbswisstools, Stahlwille items on eBay Stores!

    Happy hunting.

Google Chapman screw driver set , specifically made for working on guns.
Its a bit set ,not what you want , but are really good .Had mine for over 30years.
Century Arms in Melbourne have proper turn screws for gun work , in sets of three , with buff horn handles or rosewood. Not cheap but high quality. His website is down at the moment .
