    That was certainly different. It is like an oil well drilling tower with a winch being used for percussion work.

    When they start forging the edges, you can see the the hammer guide flexing one way.

    It is really a pretty backwards way of forging. I would say there would have been hydraulic presses available to do that sort of work a hundred years ago. And churn out the work much faster with less people.

    Wouldn't mind the power hammer for me backyard. So, neighbor. Do you plan to play music again all night.

    The crew look like they've done the odd thousand or two forgings.

    The cost of heavy forging equipment is high, even second hand.
    At the heavy forging place I worked at, 18 odd years ago, the boss bid on a manipulator. He was bidding against a competitor, so prices went into the Ferrari range!
