    Default Schaublin 102-VM For Sale

Hi Everyone, a while back I bought this from Sydney sight unseen, thinking that if it was in great condition I might replace another machine with it.
But its definitely a project and i think I have too many of them already.
Im selling this for exactly what it owes me and just want to see it go to someone who will
give it the TLC it needs.

Its a beautifully built machine with literally everything even down to the socket head screws being made to purpose (with half-height heads)
Asking $2950. Which makes this a very cheap schaublin
This will be as honest an ad as possible because i'm working like the devil currently and don't have much spare time to show it to sightseers but you are welcome to call for a chat.
I have thoroughly cleaned the machine and gone through it fixing a few things which ill list.

    --------------- The Good -------------------
The big three things these lathes seem to suffer from are all good, the feed worm wheel and backgear assembly are both in perfect condition and the leadscrew is sound.
    - Its the last series of VM production so has a MT2 tailstock and solid stand (old machines have 2 degree tailstock tapers)
    - Leadscrew and half nut are in excellent condition (In these machines the leadscrew is used for all feeds and is a massive 40mm in diameter but if worn the machine is useless)
    - Paint is pretty darn good for a machine this old especially the headstock and bed.
    - Spindle nose is excellent, spindle moves freely and no play or runout.
    - 2 speed motor and drive system is all present and working.
    - Has nifty clutch brake setup which is knee operated.
    - Carriage bedways are good but not great (as close as i could tell without getting the bed off and on a plate is .0008"wear close to the headstock.)
    - Very little backlash in any axis (about .004" on compound, under .002" on cross)
    - Tailstock barrel is tight, no wiggle even fully extended, not much backlash.
    - Nice little dickson qctp but only 1 holder
    - Functioning coolant pump
    - Parts and accessories are available (if you have deep pockets)
    - Machine is imperial (Metric leadscrew though)

    --------------- The Bad --------------------
    - Top bed (tailstock ways) has badscuffing, dimensionally it seems okay, but it looks like it had a hard time
    - Exposed portion of the cross slide ways also has scuffing and a couple of scores the internal ways are in much better condition (its a long cross slide but the outer portion sees a lot of chips and has no guard)
    - Missing a large quantity of its changegears, should have 26 but only about 5 are present.
    - Only has 3 Jaw pratt burnerd grip-tru chuck but no other tooling
    - One of its 2 cabinet drawers is missing (probably eaten by forklift)
    - Belt shift pedal snapped off (probably by forklift, all pieces are here)
    - Forward reverse switch has a broken plastic switch arm that needs a 3d printed replacement or repairing)

I have already fixed the carriage traverse mechanism and half nut engagement and trip mechanism which
    were both DOA.
All in all this is a machine in need of a loving owner, Its absolutely usable as-is but i think for the true schaublin feeling it needs a good quantity of elbow grease.
These are a machine for fine and delicate work and while its twice weight of a hercus I would say the metal removal capability is the same.
These are phenomenally accurate and fine machine previously only available to government agencies or the finest craftsmen.

I dont have many good photos at the moment because my phone camera has quit on me so these are all from a while back.

    Feel free
to PM me for a phone number, happy to talk.
