    Default Metal Shaper Book

My edited book “Metal Shapers” is finally available.

Over the period of 16 years there have been over 140 articles published in the shaper column of the NEMES Gazette (The newsletter of the New England Model Engineering Society). This book contains all those columns published and in some cases updated and corrected.

There are three versions available on Lulu.com

The printed versions are 542 pages long on 8.5” x 11’ paper.

    ebook version at $4
Black and White version at $12
    Color version at $35

Full disclosure. If I can sell just over 30 copies I make enough to pay for my two copies )

Just go to Lulu.com and search for “Metal Shapers” or “Kay Fisher” and you should find all three versions.

If you would be so kind to pass this information on to other interested metal workers I would greatly appreciate it.

    Respectfully,
    Kay Fisher

    Hi Kay Fisher,
    Welcome to our Metalworkwork Forum.
Please take the following in the spirit it was written.

Your post came very close to being reported as SPAM and deleted because it breaks our Terms of USE -please see our rules.
Go to the Rectangular FORUM button at the top LH side of the page.

To see the Terms of Use please click and select Forum home and first up are the Terms of Use.

Look at it from a moderators perspective. A new member posts for the first time and it is an offer to sell something-SPAM.

There was no introduction, no outlining of your general metalwork interests - nothing, just a post pushing something for sale. Yes! I have seen Michael G's notification about the book, but in no way does it represent an offer to join our Forum just to push your book, irrespective that some members with shapers may have an interest. If not for Micheal's announcement in the appropriate forum, I would have simply reported and deleted your post.

To begin with, it was posted in the general section and not in the appropriate section. As a moderator all I can see is SPAM.

To explain a bit further, the forum for sale area is not an advertising platform for just anybody who comes along but is meant for use of engaged members of our Metalworkers Forum and then, only in the correct area to do so.

Accordingly, I am moving this post to for sale area where it is better suited.

I see too many instances of this type of post where people come here just once to sell something or ask a question and are gone and never seen again as a participating member.

Having said that, this post is not aimed only at yourself but to the many who come here and facilities once or twice but offer nothing in return.

If you are not one of those people a big WELCOME to our forum and please participate in our Forum by asking questions or answering questions of others or simply just showing your work.

The members are a great bunch and it's only the moderator that is a grumpy bum.

    Grahame

    Lulu site:
Just for info, I downloaded the Metal Shaper e-copy from the Lulu site onto an Apple macbook, while this appeared as a saved download it will not open, but a link appears to the Apple iBooks site from where its downloadable for +/- $4.95 and it opens from there after having paid the $4 to the Lulu site. Not sure what the problem was from the Lulu site but a subsequent email from them said my email address was incorrect and to change it, maybe a level of caution should apply. The iBook e-copy though is quite good at least after a quick scan. Alan.
