FOR SALE Macson lathe.
Well hard choice time has come again. Due to needing the space im putting my 18 x 42 Macson lathe up for sale.
It will come with all its accessories
1 very little used 14" Pratt Burnerd Steel body high speed 3 jaw scroll chuck
1 pretty flogged 12" 3 jaw (useful for the backplate though)
1 almost unused 14" 4 jaw
Fixed steady
Faceplate
It has a 5HP 3 phase motor, 1/2HP coolant pump (untested)
4 way toolpost
3mt in the tailstock
5" of tailstock travel
Will swing 28 x 5" in the removable gap.
takes 21/4 through the spindle (i think)
40-1100rpm
weighs 2.2 tonnes
Ill add photos tonight
Its a flat bed, it does have some wear but will turn within 0.0015 in 12" and is a big rigid machine thats never let me down.
Im going to SA to pick up its replacement so its possible i could bring this over, have a fork to lift it on site.
looking for $2750 and a caring home.

Okay, things are moving faster than i really wanted, so ill leave this ad up for another 24 hours and reduce the price to $2000. I really dont have to deal with anyone of gumtree just yet.
Please someone on this forum buy this nice, friendly lathe.
Will deliver to anyone with a way to get it off a flatbed on Friday.
Regards - Ralph

My phone is out of commission at the moment so these old photos will have to do for the moment. At this rate I'll have to do real work and list it. Open to offers.

More photos, this is everything you get! all Chuck's have their inside and outside jaws and I even found another spare backplate. Both the Pratt and PB 3 jaws are steel bodied and usable up to the 1100 rpm maximum of the machine. Its only had two owners, never been filled with grease or otherwise abused and does. weighs 1.6 tonnes. has clutch and brake on the big lever with the red knob. Controls are all pretty darn good, nothing out of reach and the traverse wheel is on the superior RHS. Im tall so i had to put it on risers to use it comfortably.IMG_20180909_114401.jpgIMG_20180909_114404.jpgIMG_20180909_114410.jpgIMG_20180909_114415.jpgIMG_20180909_114425.jpgIMG_20180909_114435.jpgIMG_20180909_114439.jpgIMG_20180909_114444.jpg
