Thread: Right angle square and straight edge castings for sale

Gentlemen (and others):

The foundry finally did my castings backlog/wish list. After putting aside ones I'd promised to others and ones I needed for myself I have some leftovers (because some people change their mind or whatever, in some cases).

2 of 250 x 200 RA squares, machined, $175 ea.

2 maybe 3 of, 150 x 120 RA squares, machined, $100 ea.

1 of 650mm dovetail straight edge with a small flaw in its face, $350. Casting price on these went up quite a bit, I probably won't get any more done. Photo attached.

4 of 375mm dovetail straight edges, machined, $200 each. I made this pattern to do the top slide of my Monarch, decided they were cute and easy to scrape, so got a bunch of extras done. Already 6 have gone to 'good' homes. Probably a good size for Hercus owners. I've scraped one in, didn't take all that long. Photo attached, too much blue on the RA square, point per inch count a bit light on the SE, shrug, I was in a hurry.

The RA squares aren't a perfect right angle, there seems to be about a 0.2mm in 250mm taper when I put 2 of the squares face to face on the granite plate. Guess my universal table on the Vicky mill isn't perfectly trammed. Fancy that....

Down to one large square and 2 small squares, one with a small defect at the base corner. No change on the SE's.
