    Default Metal lathe for sale

Hey guys, I moved into my house last October and the previous owner left behind a metal lathe, I had all intentions of learning to use it but have now decided to sell it, I don't know very much about it so if anybody does know much about any infomation would be appreciated.
I guess my asking price will start at $1600 as a have to list a price, but could be negotiable haha
May be also willing to trade for items of interest, with cash also either way if required
    cheers Nathan

It's worth nothing, that is no doubt while the prior owner left it there. I'll come pick it up to give you the space back and get it out of your road...

On a serious note tho it's value will be fairly dependent on what condition it is in and what accessories it comes with. It's a fairly small lathe so only suited to hobby use.

Do you have a price in mind with how much your chasing ?

I understand you may have a difficulty in pricing the unit as you are unfamiliar with lathes but rules are there for a reason.

If you provide more details on this lathe it will aid in pricing the unit .
Buyers are interested in things like the, model designation, the distance between centers , the swing, the bore size through the chuck spindle hole, the accessories and the condition of the lathe.

This info and more should be found somewhere in the manual.

The model no. should be one of those four numbers, L or LC numbers, printed on the front of the manual. The Model No.appears to be stamped on the LH side plate with ABCDEF /1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 on it.I can't read it but think it is a L 560

If so,its a solid well made Taiwanese machine. Google it,one came up on Grays auction for $1500 odd. I would guess somewhere between a $1000 and $1200 dollars .Auction prices are inflated in my view. Others will be along shortly with other ideas possibly.

    Hi Nathan

I'd suggest adding some information in regards to what accessories / tooling the lathe comes with. From your pictures can tell it has the 3 jaw and fixed steady as they are currently on the lathe.
Does it have any other chucks or a face plate ? does it have the traveling stead ? What tooling does it come with ? Does it have any change gears with it ?
Quite often it can cost as much to tool up a machine as it does to buy the machine. If you don't know what all the bits are and lets be honest it's quite likely, then lay them all out and take a photo of them all.
Should be of help for any potential buyers.

    Kind regards
    Wayne
