Bridgeport mill with slotting head attachment. Currently located in Laverton.

Needs a clean up, but appears to be in good condition. 415V 3 phase.

No Digital readout, but has power feed to table axis. Includes vice pictured. Variable speed head, fwd / rev & lo / high speed.

His was a Kondia. I just delivered it for him, from ESP out at Braybrook, to his place.

This machine is still available. Marko owns it. We brought it down from Sydney 4 weeks ago. He got it in a bulk lot purchase of a complete plant. All the other stuff is gone, big machines, borers a 5 & 6 m between center lathes.

I get private messages / email frequently about finding a machine. Figured 3 phase would pull most up here. Regardless I've put it up here for first bite. Its not my machine. It has transport Syd to Melb costed in.

It's a variable speed head - what's that, maybe 1.5HP? Dead easy to drive with a VFD and I know the B/port head I have, made by Adcock & Shipley, is star/delta so an easy swap to 240V 3 phase.

The slotting head is worth a few dollars by itself. No personal interest or I'd have put my hand up straight away. Nice buy for someone though.

It is indeed 1.5 HP. Some one on Ebay asked me about that. I had to check.

I get the most questions about pulling the slotting head off, and just selling that.

I would tell them sure you will do that.They can have the slotting head for $5100 and you will throw in a bridgeport mill for free.

Are you saying that there is a ready market for just the slotting head? While I am interested in getting a bridgeport, I think the cost of freight to north Queensland makes the deal unviable.

I've seen them sell for stupid prices. Don't know why, they're pretty light duty and the basic machine isn't so rigid as to compensate. Good enough for putting keyways in gears etc though.

Like to see someone use it to do the 20mm wide by 120mm long internal keyway I recently did for a big boat rudder shaft.

They're quite popular, was bidding on a Bridgeport example mounted on a clone a couple of months ago....got out of hand price wise for the use I'd expect.

Sold an A & S Bridgeport that hadn't seen a lot of work for 3k a little while back, not enough space - which the above wouldn't have helped either!

I'm saying there is a 1,000 machines around the country, that don't have a slotting head, and that there's any amount of characters, that want to split the slotting head from this one. I don't dignify them with a reply.
