    Default Hercus 260 Price

What would a Hercus 260 be worth that is in reasonably good condition? It’s an ex college unit.

Did a quick search on the web and there is one on Gumtree for $1800 listed 24/4/19 that appears to be unsold. Also a listing of one on Machines4u that was listed at $2400 and it has a sold notation on it, but there is no date.

What should we offer them? I was thinking sub $1000 as it is now surplus to their requirements.

Any feedback on this topic most welcome. Thanks.

If it's in reasonable condition under $1000 would be very reasonable, what you need to know is what model it is and what accessories it comes with , depending on the latter could also reflect a more reasonable price , that being said get it as cheap as you can.

To give you an idea, I recently paid $1200 for a 260 ATM with cabinet and a small amount of 'extras'. The machine itself is in what I would call above average nick.
Both the seller and I were very happy with the price and from what the seller said, he had people lining up to take it for that money - I was fortunate to be quick off the mark when I saw it advertised.

It varies greatly with who you know and how quickly you can move. 260 DGM's can go for big dollars to people who are desperate for that particular spec and arnt prepared to weather a long search, Ive heard of DGM's going for up to 4k, which I think is hugely excessive.

And on the other end of the scale is being the luckiest bloke alive. A mate of mine did a deal with a fella we both know who happened to have a 260 DGM and a 260 ATM, both in near new condition. He was looking to move the machines on quickly and was doing us a favour. Some negotiation saw the two machines go for $100 and an evapourative cooler. My mate had the cooler, I paid the 100 bucks and I took the ATM home. For a deal that sweet, you NEED to be able to move fast as hell, be ready to go with cash and be ready to move the machine at relatively short notice.
