The Kingston Hercus 260
A quick question - the cheap VFD has input of single phase 240 volt and out put of 220 volts on each of the three phases and my electrician says that it will not work with the three phase motor which needs each phase at 415 volts - did I get the wrong VFD cheers Keith.

The motor has to be configured as a delta winding rather than the standard star winding. Once that has been done it should all work. Others here have converted their motors or if you are not interested in doing that personally, then a trip to a motor rewinder's.

That diagram shows a single phase motor. Keith's is 3 phase.
