Two hands on the hammer and swinging it like a meant it! One hit after a bit of heat from the front. I think I had been tapping a bit too lightly out of fear of wrecking it. Maybe even subconsciously...
Speaking to one of the guys who worked at the school I purchased it from he said it hadn't been taken off while he worked there. Around 12 years. By the look of the vertical head and the fact that there were no collets or end mills and the fly cutter hadnt been used it may have never been taken off since 1980. At least the vertical head or accessories hadn't been used.
Next step get a VFD or single phase motor to get it up and running!
