ER 25 Collets
Just wondering if any members who have a 9" Hercus or similar use ER 25 collets on a milling machine or their lathe with a Morse Taper collet chuck.

I use ER25 collets on the X3 mill with an MT3 coolet chuck, and on my smaller 8" lathe with a real feed through collet chuck. I also have an MT2 ER25 chuck to fit the tailstocks of both lathes and the drill press.
But I do not think ER25 would be a good choice for the Hercus 260, as it would limit the through spindle capacity to only 16mm or less. If ER collets, then rather ER40, as this would make full use of the 25mm through spindle capacity. Or if it was for a 9" Hercus, ER32 would offer a 20mm through spindle feed capacity.

I have added a little to the original question, thanks for the reply.
I have an ER25 collet chuck for a 9" or 1 1/2 x 8 spindle that I am happy to give away to someone who may get use out of it.
Its not 100% but should do the job.
Will see what responses I get and go from there.
Only costs would be post plus the nut if it was required.

I'd be interested!!
I was just thinking about trying to get some 3C's but then started thinking about the possibility of shifting to another more common collet system.
Please let me know!
