Default Large Tandem Axle Trailer Build

Large tandem axle trailer original plan was a car hauling trailer but i am reconsidering and making a flat bed for our motocross bikes to go on and also building a removable cage, I have a huge family Nan and Pop were busy with 8 children so my family is huge and i know if i build a flat bed/cage trailer it will get a bit of use moving furniture around and what not, i think i could possibly park 4-6 bikes on the trailer

just recently picked up a nice little mig welder as mentioned in the welding forum and my welds have transformed from globs of crap to actually something that resembles a weld, with the advice from other experienced members on the forum i am now confident in doing welds although i am still a rookie

today i flipped the trailer up off the milk crates she is rock solid with my original welds if you call them that so there shouldn't be any movement in the frame while i grind down one weld at a time and reweld the entire trailer, reason for flipping the trailer is i cannot weld out of position let to right right to left, left or right handed is all ok but up and down hill i am lost also still learning the settings and machine

both ends of the trailer are rusted just surface rust but the lengthwise beams are still in good nick because they were gal RHS, the ends where I'm running 70x50 onto 50x50 will be capped than a angle piece will be welded over it i was using what material i had available at the time that suited the budget 70x50 was 2.5mm, 50x50 was 3mm

    Looking good Gazza.
You could still make it a car trailer, but have provision for tying down motorbikes as well.
The most critical point on a trailer is the drawbar attachment, so have a read through other posts about size, attachment points and gussets.
Too many projects, so little time, even less money!
