    Do you mean THIS stuff?
Or, that multi coloured stuff that used to be used inside every old ute and panel van in the 60's and 70's.
People used to refer to it as "Chicken Sh@t"
    Haven't seen that for years.

Chicken sh@t was correctly named colourfleck.

Still available from any automotive paint reseller.

Ute liner, as in the hard wearing stuff is available from POR50.

Not DIY, but I can't praise Rhino highly enough. I had the missus' last two ute tubs protected with Rhino linings. It's bulletproof, maintenance free and will far outlast the life of the ute.

    I'll second the Rhino.
Too many projects, so little time, even less money!

Whilst the Colourfleck or Chicken Poo is "Just" a paint. Not particularly hardwearing in my opinion (or memory). Its main claim to fame is that it hid a mutitude of sins and stains were harder to see.
Marginally harder wearing than ordinary auto paint.
Mind you, my experience with it goes back to re-painting my HQ panel van, so we have to be talking mid 80's.
They may well have developed it further since then.

Maybe zuffen can bring us both up to speed on it.

    Cheers

    Grandad,

I haven't used it since the 80's as well.

My dad used it in motor caravan production. He'd spray the inside of his lift up fibreglass roofs with it as it made the rough finish look quite good.

It had an unuasl smell to it. I think it may have been water based but I do know the spraygun was never any good for another colour after you sprayed colourfleck.

    Thanks zuffen.
You're rattling the memory cells there for me. Yup, it needed a special nozzle I think.
What came back to me was how it sprayed. It sort-of "Spits" out in lumps. You start and wonder if it will ever cover anything at this rate, but it does....eventually.

But, back to the question in hand, it sounds like Rhino is the go.
How much could they possibly charge for the inside of a toolbox?
    Can't be that much, surely.

Let us know how you get on if you go this route please Gaza?
I'm interested in knowing how you get on.

    Cheers
    Jim

have not had a chance to do anything on it yet.

i have a few auto paint factors near work so ill see what i can dig up.

i actual want to do full body resto and spray on outside of the box as well, kind of a hobby project before i start something bigger like a car.
