Anyone seen one of these ?
Picked this up on the side of the road recently...complete with leads, rods, welding helmet (period)..etc... weighs around 15 kg's.
Have plugged it in and i'm still alive... that's always good.100_2872.jpg100_2873.jpg100_2874.jpg
I'm not up with welder info, so can anyone explain the specifications..

16G to 10G ==> 1.6mm to 3.25mm electrodes
120A maximum output, with a 25 % duty cycle ==> basically weld for 1 min out of every 4 mins or it will overheat/cutout.
The rod that comes out of the top adjusts the current. All the way out for 120A, and pushed all the way in for ~60A
42v NL ==> 42v with no load (also known as OCV - Open Circuit Voltage) ie when you're not welding.
And it needs to run on a 15A circuit if you want to run it at maximum current.
Would be a nice solid little unit I reckon.

Its so compact! It rivals even those modern tiny Fronius units. What a rippa!

Nice find, sort of reminds me of the welder my dad had and I learnt to weld with, only thing is yours has adjustable amperage, his didn't. It did come with a carbon arc torch though, don't ever remebering having used it though.

So is it just a general purpose stick welder or did it have some particular niche ?
Great find anyway.

As it is AC and an even wave form, it should not matter
