Ozito MWR-135 help needed please
G'day all.
I am hoping someone here can help me.
I have a Ozito MWR-135 mig welder with a broken voltage regulator switch.
I have tried contacting both Bunnings and Ozito in Australia and they were as helpful as portholes on a sub.
They claim that these switches are not considered a spare part, even though in their literature they have it listed with its own number.
All they say is if I have the receipt then I should bring it back for maybe warranty but the only problem is that it was given to me and my friend doesn't have the receipt any more.
Even so as these welders only come with a 3 year warranty, if you have one of these over that time then you end up with a useless welder if anything like this goes wrong.
My welder looks like it has barely been used and I would really like to get it working again.
What I need is another one of these switches.
Does anyone know where I could find something to use.
I don't mind buying from anywhere in the world.
All I need is a part number and supplier or just a link would be great.
Cheers for reading anyway and extra cheers if you can help.

If you carefully mark the cables on switch and remove it then take switch to a welding repair shop you will more than likely find a substitute. I have a 20 year old 200A compact mig and a main diode died, just removed and took it to my nearest welding store and they matched it.
Another option is an industrial electrical wholesaler as it just looks like a standard rotary switch to me ( I checked the manual online) my compact welder has similar switch but 6 position not 5 .

Are you able to get an actual photo of the switch then maybe we can find a suitable replacement for you.

I think if you went to a welding repair shop you will end up paying more than the machine is worth.

From the online doco the switch appears to simply be a five position rotary switch. Multi position rotary switches are available through any decent electronics store.
The number of poles, voltage and current rating may also be critical in the particular application, a suitably qualified technician would need to dismantle and evaluate the options for non identical replacement.

Welcome to a TOP FORUM. If I could ask a BIG favour, please, and that is to change your location to a town or suburb with a state. It makes it a lot easier when asking for help getting something or wanting a hand.
If your friend has an idea as to when he bought it, Bunnings should be able to find the docket. I know my local one will.
KrynTo grow old is mandatory, growing up is optional.

I lost the receipt from a purchase at bunnings.
If your friend can remember approx when they purchased the welder and has copy of bank statement for the card used, then on the statement will be a reference number. take that number to bunnings and they will print off a new receipt
