Super strong bar clamp
Got this in my emails from Instructables, on making some Bar Clamps. WE can never have enough clamps, can we????
Looks simple enough and would be a good project for learning to weld.

I've made a few clamps and pullers using all thread rod including tensile all thread and they were OK for a few dozen dozen uses and then the threads started to wear and eventually the thread just gave way.
Some of the work practices in the video leave a bit to be desired holding an angle grinder one hand and a piece of metal with another. Might be OK in the privacy of your shed but it's not something that should end up in an "instructable vid ".
Also note use of safety boots - he even welds in them.

You're right Bob, a bit like the bloke trying to start a chainsaw jammed between his legs.
It's not so much the video clips but the making of the clamps that I submitted.
Re the use of all thread, for most of us it would be fine, but I know that Acme thread and nuts would be the way to go for a more reliable set up.To grow old is mandatory, growing up is optional.

Maybe it is just me but they don't look "super strong" to me.
