Internal Pics of Token tools Metalmaster AC DC 210 Tig
Doing my research before buying a new ac dc Tig, and came across some pictures and reviews of the Everlast 210 EXT ac dc machine.
The internals looked very tidy and well put together, so wondering if anyone has any pics of the Token tools units internals to compare ?
I do like the idea that Pete at TT has been around longer and has a good following here though. And yes done the google bit, but all I come up with is external shots of the Metalmaster machine.

Hi,
You will probably find it is because the TT machines are so well built they don't break down and no one has had a reason to photograph the internals.
Add to that, they are still pretty new.
Ring Token Tools up. They are very obliging and may be able to help.

RVK355 Thanks for that link, what I was looking for, but probably an older model due to some of the components used.
Thanks also Grahame, did cross my mind to ring Pete at TT but didn't want to appear "cheeky" . I'm looking at the newer digital control model really, I see Everlast use lots of surface mount components now in their new models so I would assume TT to be the same.
I'm surprised not more pics around if they recommend a case open and blow out every 3 or so months ! good idea though, I have always done this with my now elderly transformer mig machine, amazing what accumulates inside.

It'd be great if someone like Dave Jones (EEVBlog on YouTube) or one of the other electrical engineering types did a teardown of some of these welders, just to compare design, layout and component choice (cheap vs expensive caps, IGBTs etc). Then there's analysing the voltage/current behaviour of different welders, and how that corresponds to vague terms like "dig" or "soft" or "hard" or "hot start" or "anti-stick".
As for board construction, I'd assume anything from the last 10 years would use surface mount - through hole would be very costly to manufacture these days, and would possibly limit component choices.

I was trying to find an old thread I had - where I had posted shots of my Tokentools Alusync with the cover off.
Couldn't find it, but did see this.... Inverter Maintenance
Cheers

just some internal pictures of a inverter tig I bought second hand, opened it up to find a build up of metallic dust (grinding dust sucked in by the fan) note all the build up, this shows why its always a good idea to keep the inside of your welder clean.
Before when opened up
After with a good blow out with the air compressor
