Well I guess I must have got a goodun with my $150 200 amp Rossi stick welder.
Yes the leads are short, but it weighs like a feather, it is not a 50kg transformer machine. The welding leads on the one I got are quite heavy, the earth clamp and electrode holder are crap, but the leads and quick connectors themselves are great.
A friend I was talking to just a few days ago has just killed his BOC inverter mig welder for the third time under warranty. He gets about 50kg of mig wire through it and it dies. So much for quality name brand.
Here is a weld I did a week ago, with a 3.2mm rod that the shop I bought them from sells them for $11 for 5kg

In twenty years time we will probably be using cordless welders.Gold, the colour of choice for the discerning person.

Big difference in prices here to what you pay in other countries: n I bought a CIG 170 amp inverter for around $300 a few years ago. A Lincoln Inverter of around the same output is around the $600 mark. Big difference!

Unfortunately, BOC are trading off a name that once was good, but now their machines are little more than badly overpriced ebay specials. I haven't had a good experience with any of their single phase gear, be it MIG, stick, or TIG.
As for the cordless welder, check this out, being Fronius you will need a second mortgage to afford it, but cordless welding is here! https://youtu.be/hohRgZ-JlfM
