Jody's aluminium tips
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOqhh36Kcxo
Jody always has good arc shots, but this one is very good and I think this video is something all newcomers to aluminium TIG welding should watch.
Enjoy

I have watched a lot of Jody's videos and would say that he has probably taught me the most on how I weld. Good Ol YouTube academy...
The only tip I would add and it through me at first, ended up doing a Tig course at tafe before I even realized what I was doing wrong and it was still almost dumb luck that I worked it out there. Jody quite often talks about "dipping" the filler rod, more accurately I would say you are pushing the filler rod into the puddle.
Around 6:45 in the video look at his left hand, you can see that he is doing much more then a dip. Again at 7:03 and around 7:30 when there is a mark on his filler rod you can see the "dip" is more like pushing 5mm of rod into the puddle. This pushing of the rod into the puddle also takes some of the heat out of the puddle and helps you from stopping the weld from running away on you.
Hope this helps someone else as I wish I had of known this when I started.
Cheers
Wayne
