Ok got the new bottle of gas and i have been testing the welder for settings i just cant get the right setting, any tips?
i tried the ChuckE tip on youtube with a multimeter touching the earth clamp and the gun tip but no adjustment would bring the voltage down, voltage at the gun read 29-30volts no matter what setting i chose
i was planning on using the Lincoln weld calculator for wire speed and voltage settings
the welder welds 1.6mm like the power of but i just for the life of me cannot join the 1.6mm to 4mm i think its all within my settings

Mig is constant voltage.
Use the weld calculators as a starting point. Know what each of your welder settings do and practice for a couple of months.
Also remember the simple things like stick out, gun angle, hand speed are as important as the controls on the welder and go hand in hand.

I got it sorted I'm still figuring out what the pictures say for each of the settings, have worked out top is wire feed, T1 is stitch model, T2 is something else i haven't worked out, than the one below T1/T2 is for voltage
what i was doing i was adjusting T2 and wire feed and wondering why the welds were cold as the dial below T1/T2 looked like some sort of gas control from the diagram picture
so once i worked out i needed to adjust wire feed and the lower knob i was set and ran a really nice weld
the settings u see wire feed was set to 6 meters per minute and level 5 on voltage this welded the 4mm plate to the 1.6mm sheet very easy without blowing holes or to much penetration on the 1.6mm sheet

Have some major sun burn from welding i gave away my sun block cream to someone that needed it, right when i needed it the most
started welding the keel it doesn't look pretty but 7-8 meters of weld in total should hold, i think i have to much wire speed or I'm moving to slowly i do however have a nice spray arc

Well guys the boat's keel is 96% completed and towards the end i was really nailing it as for decent welds.
i have some cold welds that wouldn't actually bond to the hull well they looked like they didn't bond but looking inside the boat i have good penetration however I'm not entirely happy with the aesthetics, but heres a picture of some good runs,
without the spool gun i don't know if the cold looking welds are user error (positioning) or machine settings most likely it is me
i found welding the 40 year old aluminium a piece of cake i only averaged probably 1-2% of fuzzy welds where i actually seen and heard the crackling and crap being sucked up thru the old aluminium but overall it was very easy to weld
