    Default Ally gassless mig?

As he title suggests, can 3mm and 4mm ally be welded using a gassless mig? Thanks in advance as wood is good and metal is mental. Damien.

Don't even try - it'll all end in tears. Get a TIG and buy (rather than rent) a cylinder of Argon (search the forum, there are places that will sell and refill the cylinders)

If you must do it on the cheap, the aluminium brazing rods that you use with a butane torch might be the way to go.

No. There is no self-shielded wire available for GMAW on aluminum, therefore exterior shielding must be supplied, normally argon gas.

Have you tried arc welding ally
There are harris electrodes which will do a reasonable job (with a bit of practice)
    For around $50.00 a packet

There is flux cored wire for both aluminium and stainless but both also require the use of a shielding gas as well.
