    Default Gas volume calculator

    Hey,
    I'm trying to work out the volume in liters of a Air Liquide Dx size Argon bottle. They are 2.2 cubic meters at ~16000 kPa. Is that 2200 liters?
    I'm trying to figure out long a bottle will last at typical TIG flow rates. Can anyone throw me a bone?

    Yep 2.2m3 = 2,200 litres.
    TIG welding will typically use between 6 and 12 lpm depending on cup size, how sensitive the metal is, etc. I typically use 8 lpm, that that means your cylinder would last me 2,200/8 = 275 minutes, or about 4.5 hours. When you factor in pre/post flow, gas purge or any other use, you might only have 3 to 4 hours of actual arc time.

    10x wire dia. would be minimum MIG flow rates, Tig is a little lower

    Does anyone have any experience with the Air liquide mini top oxy/acetylene cylinders? - when I went to tech we were taught to use (from memory) 5 p.s.i. of acetylene and 14 p.s.i. of oxy when welding panel steel -the regulators on the Minitops are apparently graduated in litres/min. and they have no delivery pressure gauge - Air liquide at this stage haven't been very helpful so can anyone advise me how to set my regulators in l/m to weld panel steel?
