    BOC also do smaller plans.
I'm on a D plan for the MIG.
Thinks it's $109 a year, full bottle when you start and then one free refill per year.
Cant recall how much a refill is if you need another one.

My last one got returned about a quarter full as the year was almost up and I hadn't used my free refill

As a home workshop TIG welder I'm not a volume user of gas so the biggest killer for me was always the cylinder rental.
Three years ago I gave my BOC E size Argon cylinder the flick and went with a Bunnings D size cylinder because that was all they had at the time.
On the weekend I emptied my second cylinder and as Bunnings now have E cylinders I figured I would go back to one of these.
Armed with a scan of my original receipt on my phone, I returned the empty D and explained that I wanted to go to an E and it took longer for the bloke to get the new cylinder than it did to sort the paperwork.

Now I'm not a huge fan of Bunnings but credit where it's due, the whole refundable deposit process was seamless. Having to pay a $300 deposit for the E cylinder was a bit of a bugger but hey, it's a deposit and I'll get it back one day.

I thought this was worth sharing as I did wonder how well the Bunnings scheme would actually work in practice and someone might find it helpful if they're trying to decide on a gas supplier.
    Cheers,
    Greg.

I've got a Gasweld E on my MIG and a Bunnings D on my TIG. None of the Canberra Bunnings are offering E cylinders yet, but I'm finding for my fairly intermittent TIG work, the D size is lasting fine, and is easier to lug around when it comes to swapping time.
