    Default Folding Welding Table

I am looking at getting a small welding table and like the look og the nomad stronghand folding table and then noticed a similar looking one on the Supercheap website SCA Welding - Table, Folding - Supercheap Auto Australia. $70 bucks vs over aprox $250 for the stronghand.

Anyone used either of these tables. I have a bigger table but it isn't flat and I am going to mount my grinder and press to the big table and use the folding one to get out when there is tigging to be done

    Cheers

With the supercreep version - I bought one, unpacked it, packed it up again and returned it all in the same day.

So you might think I wouldn't recommend one, but in fact I thought they were pretty good value for money. What I was looking for was a nice flat surface, particularly along the edges where the alignment fence was. The table was dead flat in the long direction, but was bowed across the short section. I checked out another one in the shop and it was exactly the same.

Apart from that I thought they were really good.

    Cheers

I bought one the other week from supercheap, best thing i have bought from them, very handy and i like how its got the cut out slots and also the table can tilt for those tricky situations.

I might go and check out the super cheap one but I really want it so that I can clamp stuff down on it and know that it is flat and square to same heaps of time and stuffing around - I have seen the stonghand one on youtube being used but looking for a cheaper alternative.

The supercheese ones are ok for general odd job stuff around home but if you want precision you cannot beat the buildpro tables BuildPro Welding Table, BuildPro Welding Table, BuildPro Clamping, Welding table, Nissen markers

A lot of coin I know but awesome precision.

John I would LOVE one of those tables but just a little out of the price range and that is just the table net alone the attachments I would need ot buy to make use of it .
I will have a look at the supercrud one and see it it can be modded to suit

I can see where you are coming from, if you want percision its abit like a marking out surface table machinsts use

I was previously welding on my chip board bench top thats falling apart, so the supercheap table is a huge improvement for me.

I'd have though you could weld some angle underneath to flatten out the table?

Just bought the super cheap table today after reading this thread during the week.

    For $89 from the store.

For the money its pretty good. Couldn't build one for the price considering the time it would take to build.

Like most things out of china it's not perfect when you look closer but it's sturdy enough and well thought out design.

It's not a precision table but it's perfect as a welding table.

Only thing I'll add is a decent spot to clamp the earth lead onto. And maybe some castor wheels to move around whilst spread open. Hmmmmmmm maybe a vice too.

    Cheers

    Justin

I got ripped off - I paid $89.95 It hadn't even crossed my mind to get one until I read this thread

I think it will work well - much better than my timber saw horses that seem to catch fire without much effort! And a much better height to work as well.

I bought a Stronghand Nomad for $290 and after reading the comments....- I think the Supercheap customers got more value for money. Not that the Stronghand is bad but I don't think its worth an extra $200.
If I could turn back the clock, I would buy one of these instead:

Miller - ArcStation - The F-Series. I looked at these at the time and the local Miller disty does not import them so you would have to buy on line and have it shipped. It would not be cheap with the freight but I think it would be top quality (despite being made in the US).

These are now down to $69.95 after I just paid $89.99 yesterday!

Gutted, they sent me the new offers an hour after I paid online!

UPDATE: Just been to pick up the table, explained to the manager about the offer and he knocked the $20 off some other stuff I wanted! Brilliant store!

Might have to have a look at these and see if they fit my needs, I've been thinking of building a welding bench.
