    Default tig for silicon bronze

    Hi all,

    I have a Dc inverter tig machine ( Weldmaster 180 HF) and want to tig silicon bronze. Will this machine do it or do I need an AC machine? Any source for silicon bronze filler rod?

    BOC have silicon bronze filler rod as for the other question I will be interested in th answer also

    DC. Silicon bronze is great to use and has a lower melting point and less heat is required on the base material. It is a bit pricey particularly when you get into the 3.2mm size wire. You also have the benefit of powder coating and even zinc plating.

    You can use both DCEN or AC............Using alternating current will give you a much better weld finish n more fluid weld pool..... from memory theres a bit of info about welding with silicon bronze here:
