    Default Cigweld TRANSMIG 175i

    Hi guys,

Thinking of buying the transmig 175i ,most specs sound good.but im just a beginer so i want some expert opinons.

i am looking for a mig/tig/stick with decent duty cycles this one is 25.

I think i be doing some light stuff most of the time, with occasional 10-12 mm steel.

I think this machine is what i should be looking at and it has an inverter.I plan to use it gasless, but it does come with a regulator.

Pls give me some opinions, has anyone used em, i know they are a very recent model.

These 175i's seem to be a pretty sweet machine for the $$ I work in a welding supplies shop and we have had some on back-order now for a few months and I am yet to actually see one. Cigweld are telling me we will have them in the first half of September, so shouldn't be to far away. By the time you kit one of these out fully to tig, stick, and mig with better than Kit consumables, you could be up for around the 1350 dollar mark. You mentioned glassless wire. You will always need gas for tig welding, so you may be up for a bottle there anyway. Hope that helps

Your duty cycle is relative to the power you are running eg 25% at 175 amps or 100% at 100 amps so check this out for any machine.
Secondly always check the cycle that the machine is rated on, this may be 5, 10 or even 60 minutes. 25% of 5 minutes is not long when welding, but that is flat out.
Gasless wire is S - - T. If you want a mig run gas, if you want gasless use a stick and remember that Tig uses argon gas while mig uses either CO2 or an argon/CO2 mix, (this is for steel, Aluminium mig uses argon and Stainless mig uses an argon/helium mix typically).
    Hope this helps.

Hi all, I had a look at this welder today on the net and it looked ok. My issue is is it on par with the lincoln 180c as the price is pretty much the same. I would like to have a look at it when it's in the the welding store.
